What Gateway Casino Innisfil Is and Where to Find It
Gateway Casino Innisfil is a land-based casino and entertainment venue located at 7485 5th Side Road in Innisfil, Ontario, approximately 80 kilometres north of Toronto. The property sits on the Georgian Downs harness racing grounds, combining casino gaming with live standardbred racing in one facility. Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited operates the venue, which falls under the regulatory oversight of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).
The casino operates 24 hours a day, every day of the week, with no overnight closures or holiday breaks. This makes it one of the few continuously operating gaming venues in the region. The property originally opened as OLG Slots Georgian before Gateway Casinos took over operations and expanded the gaming floor to include table games alongside the existing slot machine inventory.
Ontario's land-based casino market differs from the province's regulated online gaming sector, which launched through iGaming Ontario in 2022. Physical casinos like Gateway Casino Innisfil operate under separate AGCO licensing for brick-and-mortar establishments. The venue serves adults 19 and older from across the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding communities, offering an alternative to Toronto-area casinos for those in Simcoe County and York Region.
The integration with Georgian Downs means visitors can access both casino gaming and live harness racing from the same location. Racing events run on a seasonal schedule, while the casino floor remains open year-round. The property also includes dining options, bars, and event spaces that extend beyond the gaming floor itself.
Gaming Floor Layout and Access Options
The gaming floor at Gateway Casino Innisfil holds close to 1,000 slot machines spread across a large open area. These machines cover different bet levels, from penny slots to higher-denomination units, and include both older titles and newer branded games. The main floor is open-access for all adult guests who meet Ontario's age requirement.
Table games were added when Gateway Casinos expanded the property. The table game section includes both live dealer tables and electronic table game terminals. Electronic tables allow players to place bets on games like blackjack, roulette, and baccarat using touchscreen interfaces, while live tables offer traditional dealer-operated play.
A dedicated higher-limit slots area is separated from the main floor. This section caters to players who prefer larger wagers and a quieter environment. Access conditions for VIP or high-limit rooms can vary by property and may include membership requirements or minimum bet thresholds, though specific entry criteria for this venue are not publicly detailed.
| Area or Access Method | What You'll Find There | Who It's Designed For | Access Requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main gaming floor | Close to 1,000 slot machines at varied bet levels, electronic table game terminals, and live dealer tables | All adult guests looking for a wide selection of games in an open, high-energy environment | Ontario residents and visitors aged 19+; valid government-issued photo ID required at entry |
| Higher-limit slots area | Premium slot machines with higher minimum bets, quieter setting, and dedicated service | Players who prefer larger wagers and a more private gaming experience | Access conditions not publicly specified; may require membership or minimum bet commitment |
| Georgian Downs racing area | Live harness racing events on a seasonal schedule, betting terminals, and simulcast viewing | Racing enthusiasts and guests interested in pari-mutuel wagering alongside casino gaming | Open to all adult guests during racing season; check schedule for live event dates |
| Dining and bar spaces | Restaurant seating, bar service, and lounge areas with views of the gaming floor or racing track | Guests taking a break from gaming, groups dining before or after racing events, and non-gaming visitors | Open to all adult guests; no gaming required to access dining or bar areas |
The property layout allows guests to move between the casino floor, racing area, and dining spaces without leaving the building. Parking is available on-site, and the 24-hour schedule means you can visit during overnight hours when other entertainment options in the region are closed.
Gateway Casinos operates a loyalty program called My Club Rewards. Members earn points on slot play and table game activity, which can be redeemed for rewards, dining credits, or promotional offers. Signing up is free and can be done at the player's club desk on the property.
Games, Dining, and Other Amenities
The slot machine selection spans multiple manufacturers and game styles. You'll find video slots with bonus rounds and progressive jackpots, classic three-reel games, and video poker terminals. Bet limits range from a few cents per spin on penny slots to higher denominations for players comfortable with larger wagers. The size of the floor means popular titles are available in multiple units, reducing wait times during busy periods.
Table game options include blackjack, roulette, and baccarat. The mix of live dealer tables and electronic terminals gives you a choice between traditional play with a human dealer or faster-paced automated games. Electronic tables often have lower minimum bets than live tables, making them accessible for players who want table game action without committing to higher stakes.
Sports betting availability at Ontario land-based casinos depends on licensing and partnership arrangements. Some venues offer sports betting terminals or kiosks where you can place wagers on professional and amateur sporting events. The expansion of single-event sports betting in Canada, legalized federally in 2021, opened the door for casinos to add sportsbook operations. Confirm current offerings directly with the venue if sports wagering is a priority for your visit.
Dining and Bar Options
The property includes restaurant and bar facilities. Dining options range from casual to sit-down service, with menus designed to accommodate guests spending several hours on-site. Bar areas serve cocktails, beer, and wine, and some spaces offer views of the gaming floor or racing action. Pricing and menu variety reflect the casino's positioning as a regional entertainment destination rather than a high-end resort.
Hours for dining and bar areas may differ from the 24-hour gaming floor. Check with the venue for current restaurant schedules, especially if visiting during late-night or early-morning hours when some food service areas may be closed.
Entertainment and Special Events
Gateway Casino Innisfil hosts entertainment programming that includes live music, themed events, and promotions tied to the racing calendar. The integration with Georgian Downs means major racing events can draw larger crowds and include additional entertainment beyond the races themselves. Event schedules vary by season, and some programming may require separate tickets or advance registration.
The casino also runs promotional campaigns for My Club Rewards members, including bonus play offers, prize draws, and exclusive invitations. These promotions are designed to encourage repeat visits and reward frequent players. Details on current offers are available through the venue's website or player's club desk.

Eligibility, House Rules, and Responsible Gambling
Ontario law requires all casino guests to be at least 19 years old. Gateway Casino Innisfil enforces this age limit at the entrance, and you must present valid government-issued photo identification to enter the gaming floor. Acceptable ID includes a driver's licence, passport, or provincial ID card. Anyone who cannot provide valid ID will be denied entry.
Dress code policies vary by Ontario casino. Some properties enforce business casual standards in certain areas, while others allow relaxed attire on the main gaming floor. If the venue has specific dress requirements, they will be posted at entrances or published on the website. When in doubt, avoid overly casual clothing like athletic wear or beachwear if visiting during peak hours or attending a special event.
Self-Exclusion and Spending Controls
Ontario casinos operating under AGCO regulation must provide responsible gambling tools. Self-exclusion programs allow individuals to voluntarily ban themselves from entering gaming properties for a set period. A self-exclusion at one Ontario casino typically extends to all regulated gaming venues in the province, preventing entry and participation in promotions.
Players can also set deposit or spending limits through loyalty program accounts, though the availability and scope of these tools vary by property and program structure. On-site staff are trained to recognize problem gambling behaviours and can direct guests to support resources.
Provincial support resources include the ConnexOntario problem gambling helpline, which provides confidential counselling and referrals. The helpline is available 24/7 and can be reached by phone or online. AGCO-licensed venues are required to display information about responsible gambling supports, including helpline contact details and educational materials.
Trespass and Exclusion Policies
Guests who have been trespassed or self-excluded from Gateway Casino Innisfil or any Ontario gaming property are prohibited from entering, participating in promotions, or redeeming offers. Violating a self-exclusion or trespass order can result in legal consequences, including charges for trespassing. The casino uses identification checks and database systems to enforce these exclusions.
House rules also govern behaviour on the property. Disruptive conduct, intoxication, or cheating can result in removal and potential exclusion from future visits. Security personnel monitor the gaming floor and have authority to intervene when rules are violated.
